Like the Facebook suite, you’ll have an encoder and a decoder which will enable you to work with the format. The suite comes with some simple (for Blue Ripple) decoders and an awesome visualiser for your mixes that help you understand where your sound source is sitting in the mix.Ībleton doesn’t allow you to work directly with ambisonics files, but it will enable you to create an ambisonics mix using stereo and mono files now with this incredible ambisonics suite of patches. Given the high price point of all their surround sound and ‘3D’ plug-ins, as well as the quality, this is great. This Blue Ripple suite will work with Reaper and Pro Tools and it’s FREE. You’ll need to know what the capsule placement is and which direction the plug-in thinks your mic is facing (up/down, front/back and W, X, Y, Z for 1OA). The new device combines both of these effects into one device together with feature. However, it is possible to use these plug-ins on A format recordings, recorded on other microphones. Delay is a more streamlined version of Live’s two existing delay plugins, Simple Delay and Ping Pong Delay. Mics like the Rode have their own plug-ins available because they will place their capsules in specific ways. However, other mics like Rode NT-SFI will require you to convert your recordings to playable B format. If you’re working with the Zoom H3-VR then this mic has an A-B format converter built into the mic. Dual Delay is one of them!įor those experimenting with upmixing, this is perfect. There are limited plug-in options available at the moment that allow you to just have fun with your ambisonics mix and add effects other than reverb. Not only is this free, but it’s the only multiband compressor that I’ve found for ambisonics so far that works really well, this is a big personal fave for adding punch and control to your ambisonics mixes. You’ll have an encoder and a decoder included in this suite which will enable you to work with the format. As part of Facebook’s push to drive 360 content, this suite is free and it’ll work in Reaper, Nuendo, Cubase and Pro Tools. This fantastic FREE suite of plug-ins was originally designed by an awesomely names company (2 Big Ears) who thankfully sold out to Facebook.
